If we used to say that data are the new oil, we could add that as oil, data need to be refined.
This is what we do on data when making them searchable, organizable and shareable.

To ease data flow from users, all objects (documents, parts…) expose their permalink which provides direct access to their main information.

Moreover, these permalinks can be opened to the external world either publicly, temporary or password-protected.
As the concept of extended enterprise is spreading, this is a must have feature.
