Metadata

DocDokuPLM is a comprehensive business data management platform. Data are therefore the central parts of the system.
Data can be structured or unstructured, versioned, encrypted or even secured by a permission set. They could take the form of binary files or metadata surrounding other data.

Metadata are highly versatile. In order to make future exploitation easier, they are typed.

When those custom defined attributes are managed in conjunction with object templates, they reveal all their strength. Within templates, attributes can be flagged as mandatory or marked as frozen, which has the consequence to forbid deletion or attributes addition to the instantiated objects.

Metadata feature is definitely very powerful as it allows the system to be extended and tailored without requiring a single line of code!
